About 70% of computer scams can be roughly divided into two categories:
- The victim encountered websites on the internet which offered the opportunity to either make money quickly and easily, start investing or mining crypto, or participate in a big raffle game. On the website, the victim entered their personal data and bank codes, after which the scammers used the information to conduct bank transactions on behalf of the victim.
- The victim's personal data and/or bank information was repeatedly used by their acquaintance or family member, who submitted one or multiple express loan applications on behalf of the victim, signed hire-purchase agreements online for the purchase of various products or otherwise caused financial damage to the victim.
